I really hate websites that have some shit animation load when you enter the site. It always seems to take forever to load and then turns out to be something completely worthless. Why bother? How about a nice simple website that loads really quickly and is user friendly - too much to ask for I guess.
I wonder if there is even one person on the planet who has sat back and said to themselves - "Wow, I'd better wait for this to load, it might be something good and may help me want to do business with this company who seems intent on wasting my time" I doubt it.
This animation thing is so common on local websites that I'm guessing designers feel they simply must have one. Or perhaps clients think that it makes their site look better and grander? I'm not really sure but here's some advice - skip the fancy stuff.
